Chantelle Norton is a painter focusing on animals, nature, and pattern. She captures the emotional hold landscapes and animals have on us. Her recent paintings and drawings explore the vulnerability and intimacy between humans and their dogs, investigating how throughout history and in myth the dog has impacted our lives.
In "Dog Days" her artwork is exhibited with wallpaper she designed illustrating the story of Artemis and Actaeon. The hunter, Actaeon, fell to the fatal wrath of Artemis after spying on her and her nymphs bathing. The hunter becomes the hunted after she transforms him into a stag, and his raging hounds strike with a wolf's frenzy, tearing him apart as they would a stag.
