About
Chantelle Norton is a visual artist and designer working in a variety of mediums from painting to ceramics. She has worked in many fields of design, from fashion to textile to print to costume to product and graphic design. Most recently she has been designing data visualizations and infographics. Her whimsical paintings and hand-built ceramics take nature, animals, and mythology as inspiration. Textiles and patterns feature throughout all her work, in one way or another, to tell stories reflecting on domesticity and notions of home. While the end image and story are key to her artwork, the process - whether in painting or ceramics - is just as important. And, while she has settled in the Lower Hudson Valley, and is influenced by its landscape and surroundings, her work is shaped by a childhood moving between Ireland and the United States.
